REMOTE ADR
SESSIONS

The actor is in Madrid. The production is in Berlin. The room is in Tenerife. In dubbing this stopped being a logistics problem a while ago — it is simply how the work is done.

What still decides whether a day goes well is how the link is set up, and who is directing the room.

From the connection to delivery

Five things worth knowing before you book a remote dubbing day.

What a remote session is

It is not a video call with a good microphone. The actor records in a treated room, on the same mic and the same chain for the whole project, while director and client listen and talk in real time from wherever they are, with picture in sync and time code on screen. What gets recorded stays in the room, not in the connection: the network carries the conversation and the reference, never the material that will be cut later.

The connection

We work with SessionLinkPRO and Source-Connect — the two standards production companies already run. The client brings the link. That removes new accounts, borrowed licences and the half hour everyone loses before the first take. If the production arrives with its own workflow, we fit into theirs.

During the day

Live room direction: entries, intention, breath, pace. Each take is checked against picture there and then, not the next morning. When a line misses sync it is done again on the spot — fixing it later in the mix costs twice as much, and it shows.

What we need from you

Little, but precise: reference video with burnt-in time code, script or take list with codes, and the delivery format agreed before the session starts. A script without codes turns a six-hour day into a nine-hour one.

Delivery

In the format and time code the project asks for. Separate tracks per character when the edit needs them, named the way your house names them. If the project carries on into the mix, it stays in the same room: ADR, mixing, mastering and Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 — same ears all the way.
